Robert A. Aird, Inc. is a building envelope contractor located in Frederick, MD and working primarily in the Baltimore, Washington, and Northern Virginia areas since 1975. Generally, our scopes include EIFS (Exterior Insulating Finish Systems), stucco, plaster, air/water barriers, spray polyurethane foam, deck coatings, carpentry, window and door replacement, flashing, paint, and sealants. We are looking for the following candidates:

• Qualified EIFS (Exterior Insulating Finish System) Mechanics – an employee with experience in EIFS and or Stucco.
• Qualified Laborers – an employee who has had experience being a laborer in the construction industry.

Do you have what we are looking for? (Minimum Requirements to Apply)

• Be able to work a typically 40 hour work week.
• Work Hours are 7am to 3pm – other jobs may have specific work times.
• Driver’s License (or valid government issued ID with photo), and Social Security Card
• Must have own reliable transportation to get to job sites.
• Must be willing to work from scaffold, swings and ladders at heights.
• Must wear or be able to acquire before hire, steel or protective toe boots, jeans and appropriate shirts for the weather.
• Familiar with construction terminology.
• English / Spanish bi-lingual is a plus.

Mechanic work will include but is not limited to:

• Plan ahead for materials and notify your Foreman or Superintendent.
• Be sure adjacent materials are covered up or protected.
• Be familiar with OSHA rules and regulations and abide by them at all times.
• Work cooperatively with all other employees.
• Know proper installation of secondary weather resistive barrier, EPS, rasping, cutting joints, installing details, mesh/base coat, finish coat, and caulk .
• Know proper installation for scaffold and help to do so when so instructed and have scaffold training certificate.
• Be able to read blueprints.

Laborer work will include but is not limited to:

• Be familiar with OSHA rules and regulations and abide by them at all times.
• Keep materials organized where foreman determines is best location.
• Monitor safety considerations and correct deficiencies when they are encountered.
• Keep the mechanics supplied with materials so they can work continuously.
• Know mixing instructions for basecoat/adhesive and for finish coat.
• Cover up adjacent work (and work below) to protect it.
• Clean up after EIFS work is complete – pull tape and plastic, clean up empty buckets and other trash generated by our operation.
• Receive and count scaffold and materials as they arrive on the jobsite.
• Set scaffold prior to work and drop scaffold when work is complete.
• Work cooperatively with all other employees
