MCCEI values partnerships and relationships developed with government, education, and industry. The organizations listed below have made significant and meaningful contributions to support our initiatives. Some of the support is on-going, some of it was a one-time, but all of it deeply appreciated.

Our Funders.

A snapshot of our annual revenue sources

DLLR GOVERNOR’S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD.

Since its inception in 2009, MCCEI has maintained a strong partnership with the Governor’s Workforce Development Board. Through an annual appropriation from the state of Maryland, MCCEI works with DLLR and the GWDB on advancing and improving the built environment industry labor force. The task forces and initiatives listed below are just some of joint efforts:

  • Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades Taskforce
  • Marketing and Promotion Task Force
  • Youth Apprenticeships
  • Construction Roundtable
  • Special Events

ACE MENTOR OF BALTIMORE, INC..

In 2017, MCCEI partnered with ACE Mentor of Baltimore, Inc. and created a jointly funded, full-time position. MCCEI saw a need to increase outreach to area high schools to promote built-environment careers, ACE Baltimore saw the need to grow beyond the limits of what it could do with an all-volunteer effort. Together, the MCCEI/ACE Baltimore partnership is focused on:

  • Expanding ACE participating schools, students and mentors in the Baltimore region.
  • Combining ACE programs with schools that have Construction, Design, and Management, Skills USA or Project Lead The Way curricula.
  • Creating articulations to apprenticeships, community college, and university programs.

TOWSON UNIVERSITY.

Since beginning full-time operations in 2012, MCCEI has been hosted on Towson’s campus and partnered on several initiatives and projects. As a neutral player for built environment programs in Maryland, Towson is an ideal partner on initiatives such as:

  • Website and mapping development.
  • Independent, third-party industry research.
  • Office space, administrative and information technology support.
  • Special event logistics.
  • The BIM Forum and BIM Continuing Education Classes.

MARYLAND STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

In 2017, MCCEI Became the statewide affiliate for MSDE’s Construction and Development cluster (C&D) of academic programs (Construction, Design, and Management and Construction Trades). As the affiliate, MCCEI is responsible for:

  • Convening a State Advisory Group to review curriculum and content
  • Coordinating professional development sessions for C&D teachers.
  • C&D program promotion for enrollments.
  • Articulations to apprenticeships, community college and university programs.
  • Industry information sharing with C&D teachers.
