FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ACE Mentor of Baltimore Celebrates the Work of Their Students

Students throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County will compete for the ACE 2019 Title

TOWSON, MD (April 22, 2019) – ACE Mentor Program of Baltimore’s Presentation Night is on May 9th from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Preparatory School. At this event, 13 student teams will be showcasing their year-long work and competing against the other teams.

ACE (an acronym for architecture, construction, and engineering) is a mentor program that is in high schools across America. Industry professionals from the built environment industry meet with a specific high school team over the span of 15 weeks to help the students gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of the industry.

Throughout the year teams from schools across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County have created worksite plans for the Baltimore Food Hub. At the Presentation Night these teams will go in front of a panel of judges to pitch how they would develop the existing site. At the end of the night, the judges will decide on which team had the best worksite plan and pitch.

In addition to the project pitches, education and industry professionals will have booths set up at the event to talk to the students about options for after high school. The ACE Baltimore executive board will also be presenting students with scholarships for post-secondary education in built environment fields.

Students who are awarded scholarships, and the winning student team, will be honored at ACE Baltimore’s Scholarship Breakfast on May 14th at the Engineer’s Club in Baltimore. The students will get to celebrate with industry partners, ACE executives, their peers, and their family.
