Job Description

J. Vinton Schafer & Sons, a division of Quandel of Enterprises, offers complete project services from planning and estimating to construction supervision.

J. Vinton Schafer & Sons is currently searching for an experienced Carpenter in Abingdon, MD to work in our newly developed Small Projects division.

Position responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Foreman and other carpenters in a team approach to ensure work is completed on-time
  • Deliver high quality workmanship to exceed the expectations of our valued customers
  • Perform various tasks as required on a job by job basis
  • Maintain Quandel’s 27 Safety Rules at all times with our own team members, as well as subcontractors. The Lead Foreman should run his/her jobs in accordance with OSHA standards and communicate all Quandel and OSHA standards to team members.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial or residential construction
  • Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction
  • Prior experience in layout, reading and understanding blueprints
  • Experience in concrete, framing, casework, doors/hardware, drywall, acoustical ceilings and toilet accessories
  • Masonry experience desired
